What is Average Joes Super Rad Range Day?
As we looked at the state of the gun communtiy we realized that there was an increasing gap between the average gun owner and ‘elite’ shooters. We sought out to narrow that gap. We believe that we get better as a whole when the entire community improves their skillset, so we sought out to close that gap. Led by a group of diverse shooters (in background and profession), we started the Average Joes range days as a means to get normal ‘average’ gun owners to come out to train, build community, try new equipment, and ultimately continue to grow the 2A community both in size and skillset.
Requirements
Anyone can come, hence the name Average Joes. No kit requirements. Some people will be in full kit, others concealed only, it’s up to you. The main thing is that you train with what you have. It’s a laid back environment, but our only requirement is that you be safe with your firearm(s) at all times. If there is an issue we may give you a little extra attention to help you out, but if it continues we may ask you to sit out for a bit.

Who can attend? Do I need to be an experienced shooter?
Anyone can attend hence the name ‘Average Joes.’ It is for the normal everyday gun owner all the way up to professionals. You don’t need to have certain experience or credentials nor do you have to have a big social media following. These days are about building community and training together. Everyone is welcomed. Our only requirement is that you be safe with your firearms at all times. If issues arise we deal with them on a case by case basis.
Is there a fee to watch?
No, there is no fee to watch, however you will have to pay for food. The idea is to get more people out training and learning together, however, we understand that some may not feel up to it or just want to take it all in first. That is perfectly fine. Come hang out, enjoy the community, check out the sponsors, and eat some good food. If you choose to use the facilities after you will need to pay a day fee at the front office.
What do we need to bring (equipment, water, food, etc.)?
Bring whatever gear you want to train with or in. There is no gear requirements other than bring what you have. While we do have specific areas designed for rifle or pistol only, you can borrow from others or we can modify drills to accommodate you. We will have water and food on site, but we also highly recommend you bring your own drinks and snacks as well.
Can we bring tents, tables, chairs, etc.?
Yes. We will have some small covered areas and tables, but they fill up fast. You are more than welcome to bring your own tents, chairs, and carts.
How much ammo do we need?
We recommend 350 of rifle and 350 of pistol, but encourage you to bring more if you would like to shoot more.
What does the schedule of the day look like?
We describe it as party style. We have various stations set up, each focusing on different fundamental skills that challenge shooters of all skill levels. We will allow participants to rotate through all stations. Our training session runs about 4 hours, we find that we get optimum performance during that time frame. At the end of the day we will usually close out with raffles and sharing drinks and cigars together…mainly Topo Chico
I missed registration, is there a waitlist?
Unfortunately, we don’t have a waitlist nor do we plan on having one in the near future.
I can’t make it, can I have a refund?
We do not issue refunds for no-shows, but we encourage you to sell or giveaway your spot to other.
What about inclement weather?
We will do everything in our power to carry on the range day so long as we can do it safely. If the weather does not permit on Saturday, we will move to Sunday if the weather is more accommodating.
